Our Equine Veterinary Laboratory provides a comprehensive diagnostic service to veterinarians and clients across the equine industry.

Role of the Equine Veterinary Laboratory

Our Equine Veterinary Laboratory, plays a key role in supporting equine health through the provision of high-quality diagnostic testing, research, and disease surveillance. We provide a trusted laboratory service to our own veterinary clinicians, external veterinary practices, and clients, delivering reliable results that support informed clinical decision-making.

Comprehensive Diagnostic Services

We offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic services across all major areas of equine laboratory medicine, including haematology, biochemistry, microbiology, cytology, serology, and PCR testing. This broad testing capability allows us to support both routine and specialised diagnostic requirements, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, and clinical relevance.

Experienced Laboratory Team

Our laboratory is staffed by a skilled and experienced team of eight professionals who work collaboratively to maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and customer service. We place great value on close communication with the veterinary professionals and clients we support.

Research and Disease Surveillance

In addition to our diagnostic services, we are actively involved in ongoing research and disease surveillance programmes, contributing to the monitoring and early detection of equine diseases. We are continually exploring new and innovative testing methods, investing in advanced technologies to improve turnaround times and expand our diagnostic offering.

Regulatory Approval and Accreditation

We are approved by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) for the culture of Contagious Equine Metritis (CEM) and are also BEVA approved for CEM testing, reflecting our commitment to regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and best practice in equine diagnostics.

Fecal Screening:


  • Worm egg count
  • Foal Scour profile (Rotavirus, crypto, C.diff)

Culture:
